Workforce Intelligence Report

Work is underway in conducting an intiital scoping of the psychological workforce that will map current workforce, vacancy rates, expected recruitment needs and involvement in strategic forums at local and regional level. This will be reported to Health Education England and Psycholoigcal Professions Network England, and disseminated to Local Workforce Action Boards within the South West.

The report will seek to provide intelligence in terms of the number of Psychological Professionals working in NHS funded services in the South West, to specify how many Psychological Professionals would be required in the South West, in meeting the ambitions set out in the NHS Long Term Plan. Other aims of the report include the identification of training courses for Psychological Professions in the South West, how many people qualify from them each year, and how these are funded, and mapping the representation of the Psychological Professions in key workforce forums at Trust, STP/ICS and regional levels in the South West.
