Promoting Excellence In Psychological Health & Wellbeing

PPN London is compiling a workforce report to map the current profile, resources, and challenges facing psychological professions across the capital. Our aim is to share understanding of existing capacity and to evaluate the impact of recent initiatives to expand and diversify the workforce in response to London’s growing mental health needs.

By collaborating with provider organisations and higher education institutions, we strive to attract, develop, and retain a skilled, representative workforce. So that London is resourced and equipped to innovate and adapt to the capital’s evolving health and wellbeing landscape. The findings will inform strategic decisions on how to recruit, retain, and reform working practices in line with the NHS Long-Term Workforce Plan, as well as the three key shifts anticipated in the upcoming NHS 10-year plan: moving care closer to communities, harnessing technology effectively, and prioritising prevention over treatment.

This project supports the ambition to build a resilient, sustainable psychological workforce equipped to meet the diverse needs of London’s population now and for years to come.
